EXCITING CHANGE IS COMING

Claudius Crozet Park has been devoted to recreation, fitness, and supporting the needs of residents in the Crozet community since opening in 1958. Now Crozet Park is growing to meet the increasing demands of our thriving community—and we need your help! Together, we can build a new Crozet Park Aquatics and Fitness Center with leading-edge facilities and amenities.

Here’s the latest project update.

Expanded facility includes:

→ Permanently Covered 8-lane Pool
→ Spacious Multi-Purpose Gymnasium
→ Functional Training Studio
→ Indoor Walking Track
→ Multiple Group Exercise Studios
→ Community Room
→ Child Care Center
→ Cardio/Strength Studio

THE TIME IS NOW

Crozet is a vibrant community of young professionals, families, retirees, and locals who have called the area home for many generations. Just minutes from Charlottesville in western Albemarle County, Crozet is a place where residents enjoy mountain views, parks and open space, local shops, restaurants, breweries, and wineries. In Crozet, we do more than just work and sleep—we live!

Crozet’s current population is around 7,000 and it is expected to reach between 12,065 — 16,300 by 2030.

Solving the Child Care Crisis

Finding high-quality after-school care is an ongoing and stressful challenge for working families. In Crozet, parents wake before dawn to register their children for care. The needs outweigh the available spots, which are filled in minutes. Crozet Park’s 70 seats help fill the gap in demand, followed by placement in caregivers’ homes and shuttling to Charlottesville facilities. Our new and expanded park building will increase the capacity to serve 250 students in after-school programs.

YEAR-ROUND Ways TO BE ACTIVE

The winter months can be a time when cold and wet weather, combined with holiday schedules, cause us to be less physically active. For retirees in our community, a sedentary lifestyle has negative effects on their overall health. The new Crozet Park Aquatics and Fitness Center will offer our aging community members a place to exercise and socialize—the indoor walking track, meeting spaces for groups and clubs, and cardio room will help seniors stay active and healthy.

Support our building Campaign

Claudius Crozet Park is a 22-acre green space with facilities to support the recreation needs of our community. The swimming pool—the park’s jewel—has been the focal point of the grounds, which have grown to include fitness and exercise facilities, athletic fields for baseball and soccer, a paved walking path, and a fenced dog park. We have committed ourselves to the needs of our neighbors, and now is the time to upgrade the facilities to sustain Crozet Park’s goals and purpose. The new Crozet Park Aquatics and Fitness Center will feature a permanently covered 8-lane 25-yard pool (in addition to the current outdoor pool), a multi-purpose gymnasium to accommodate half and full-court basketball along with Quickstart tennis and pickleball, an indoor walking track, cardio equipment, and sports and fitness programs for all ages and activity levels. Join us as we continue to offer opportunities to improve lifestyles in Western Albemarle.

Community-owned and operated since 1958, Claudius Crozet Park, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
