EXCITING CHANGE IS COMING

Claudius Crozet Park has been devoted to recreation, fitness, and supporting the needs of residents in the Crozet community since opening in 1958. Now Crozet Park is growing to meet the increasing demands of our thriving community—and we need your help! Together, we can build a new Crozet Park Aquatics and Fitness Center with leading-edge facilities and amenities.

Here’s the latest project update.

Expanded facility includes:

→ Permanently Covered 8-lane Pool
→ Spacious Multi-Purpose Gymnasium
→ Functional Training Studio
→ Indoor Walking Track
→ Multiple Group Exercise Studios
→ Community Room
→ Child Care Center
→ Cardio/Strength Studio

THE TIME IS NOW

Crozet is a vibrant, fast-growing community of families, retirees, and professionals who have called the area home for many generations. Just minutes from Charlottesville, our town has become one of Albemarle County’s most sought-after places to live, where residents enjoy mountain views, open spaces, local businesses, and plenty of opportunities to connect. In Crozet, we do more than work and sleep–we live!

This growth brings extraordinary opportunity and new responsibility to make sure our community spaces grow with us. Claudius Crozet Park is rising to meet that moment.

“This facility will provide an entire spectrum of opportunities for all ages within our community, and it is absolutely necessary.”
— Crozet resident

MEETING THE NEEDS OF GROWING FAMILIES

Demand for recreation and wellness space in Crozet has outpaced capacity and Crozet’s families are growing fast. Each year, parents face limited options for after-school care, youth sports, and family recreation. The new CPAFC will change that. By expanding after-school and camp programs, adding a year-round gymnasium and fitness spaces, and increasing access to affordable recreation, the new facility will help families stay active and connected close to home.

BUILDING A PLACE FOR EVERYONE

The new CPAFC isn’t just about a pool or gym—it’s about connection. Many of Crozet’s seniors rely on the Park as one of the few nearby places to stay active. The new CPAFC will offer year-round opportunities for movement and community, from group exercise and walking tracks to senior-specific spaces and programs. Just as importantly, it will create opportunities for intergenerational wellness by ensuring the Park meets its commitments as the center of recreation in Crozet.

Support our building Campaign

The CPAFC Capital Campaign

Building the next chapter of community, connection, and wellness in Crozet.

For more than 65 years, the 22-acre Claudius Crozet Park has been the heart of our community recreation. The swimming pool–the Park’s jewel–has been the focal point of the grounds, which have grown to include fitness and exercise facilities, athletic fields for baseball and soccer, a paved walking path, and a fenced dog park. As Crozet grows, so do the needs of our neighbors. To meet these needs, the Park Board has officially approved plans for a new Crozet Park Aquatics and Fitness Center (CPAFC), the most significant investment in community wellness and connection in the Park’s history.

The new facility will include a permanently covered, year-round 8-lane, 25-yard pool (in addition to the existing outdoor pool), a multi-purpose gymnasium for basketball, pickleball, and other court sports, an indoor walking track, expanded fitness areas, and program spaces for all ages. Together, these upgrades will make Crozet Park a true intergenerational hub where children, teens, families, and seniors can gather year-round to stay healthy and connected.

With planning complete and community support growing, we’re proud to begin the next chapter of the effort to bring this vision to life. The Capital Campaign for the new CPAFC will fund construction of a year-round, state-of-the-art facility that keeps Crozet Park sustainable, welcoming, and vibrant for generations to come.

Claudius Crozet Park, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization — owned and operated by the community since 1958. Every improvement we make is possible because of local support.
